Wormster DashOfficial Waldo Score 9.1/10

Official Waldo Review

Wormster Dash caught my attention on the app store from the title "hand-drawn runner". I was looking for a game that involved some sort of platforming with incredible graphics and sound. The games I was playing this week didn't really appeal to my interests and would've made a boring gameplay video. Right off the bat this game opens with an amazing intro that interacts with the tilting of your device. Very cool, but then I'm repeatedly blown away as the game progresses. The animation and level of detail combined with the sound and music in this game just completely overload my senses with awesomeness. Definitely download this game right now!

Rating Breakdown

This game was given a score of 9.1/10 which is good. Anything above a 5.0 is considered a great game. Below is a breakdown of the elements that were factored into the rating for this game. Even though Waldo's reviews are based on personal opinion, each game's rating follows a strict confidential rubric system for fairness.

User Interface Design (UI)
The UI is absolutely beautiful. The added touch of moving your device around to make the camera move is really awesome too. The level of detail is spot on.
User Experience Design (UX)
Everything is super clear and easy to understand. The experience is powerful and flawless.
Game Design
I have to give a perfect score for this one. The amount of detail put into this game is amazing. The hand drawn elements and constant motion of characters, backgrounds, enemies keeps this game constantly exciting and fun to play.
Learning Curve
There is a little bit of a learning curve, like learning there are some paths that are faster than others. It took me a while in the beginning to realize this as I found myself frustrated by the inability to get ahead of the worm until I realized you can jump up top in the beginning and get launched ahead.
Difficulty Progression
I would say this game is incredibly smooth. Every time I play I get better and better and ultimately improve my score. As I move forward blindly it's difficult to know exactly what to do when obstacles come your way, but then they are easy to figure out the next time around.
Playtime Longevity
This game is a lot of fun, but I don't see myself playing this for months on end. It's one of those classic games that has a start and finish on purpose. It doesn't water down the intensity by trying to extend the shelf life.
Sound Design
100% on point. I feel like I'm watching a movie.
Fun
Lots of fun. Enough fun to keep me occupied for hours and still wanting more. Still wanting to beat my score.
Concept Originality
The game play isn't that unique but the experience feels like something I've never seen before. It's like playing in a cartoon from the 50's.
Post Production
Post production contains a well written description, screenshots, video and icon design.
