FortniteOfficial Waldo Score 8.3/10

Official Waldo Review

Unlike almost everyone else on this planet, this was my first experience playing Fortnite. I've heard about the amazing fan base and addiction this game has caused around the world and I knew once it got ported to mobile it was something that I needed to review right away. Being a multiplayer game, this game was at a different complexity then most of the games I am used to reviewing. Although the game has a lot of value, I felt that it was rather too difficult to play on a touch screen and I felt my self initially very frustrated with my lack of control and inability to just dive into the game. If you are a big fan of Fortnite, you may find this game to be a good substitute when you are on the go, but in no way is this a replacement of the console/PC version.

Rating Breakdown

This game was given a score of 8.3/10 which is good. Anything above a 5.0 is considered a great game. Below is a breakdown of the elements that were factored into the rating for this game. Even though Waldo's reviews are based on personal opinion, each game's rating follows a strict confidential rubric system for fairness.

User Interface Design (UI)
Game displays some but not all of the following: clean layout design, smooth transitions, animation / motion, good use of a color palette, orginality.
User Experience Design (UX)
Very cluttered and messy. Being that I never played this game before I was a little annoyed that I couldn't navigate or understand what or where to go, just to start the game.
Game Design
The game itself is designed really well. The characters, the animations, the world and concept are all very interesting and well done.
Learning Curve
Incredibly hard to figure out and play if you've never played before. The game offered me zero to little instructions when I first started. My only knowledge of how to play was from watching a few videos prior to downloading of other people playing this game.
Difficulty Progression
Being a multiplayer game it's hard to control difficulty, but I think their ranking system was pretty well configured considering the circumstances.
Playtime Longevity
I've heard about people playing this game nonstop for months so there is definitely enough game play to keep you playing forever.
Sound Design
Both the music and sound effects were well thought out, well produced and original.
Fun
A great and fun game, but I couldn't give it a perfect score because I found the controls to be just a little too annoying to work for this game.
Concept Originality
Uses a concept that has been seen or used before but adds a very unique twist to that concept that makes it original on its own.
Post Production
The game is marketed in such a way that makes it entertaining on its own. It also contains a well written description, screen shots, video and icon design.
